What the app does

Dyscendi lets you create review cards, by hand or by generating them from a document you import, then review them using a spaced repetition algorithm (FSRS).

Your account

An account is required. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out from your account. The app is aimed at high school students and above; if you are under fourteen, a parent's or guardian's consent is required.

Your content

Your decks, cards and imported documents remain yours. We use them only to run the service, and an imported document is sent to our AI provider only when you start a generation.

You must hold the rights to what you import. Do not import a document you are not allowed to copy.

Generated cards

Cards are produced by a language model from your document. They may contain errors. That is why the app has you review and correct them before anything is saved: nothing is written without your approval. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of what the model produces, and these cards do not replace your course material.

Free and paid plans

The free plan gives you twenty AI-generated cards per month. The month is counted from the date your account was created: sign up on the 8th, and your budget renews on the 8th of every month. When that day does not exist in a shorter month, the renewal happens on the last day of that month. An unused budget does not carry over to the next month.

Making cards by hand is free and unlimited, decks as well as cards, for everyone. The paid plan removes the cap on generated cards and raises the size and length of the documents accepted.

Nothing is ever taken away from you. Cards you have already created stay available and reviewable indefinitely, on the free plan and after a subscription ends.

The subscription is purchased through the App Store or Google Play and renews automatically at the end of each period, unless cancelled at least twenty-four hours before it ends. Cancelling is done in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not in the app. Cancelling does not cut off access immediately: it runs until the period already paid for ends.

Full refund within seven days of purchase, with no justification required. For a purchase made on Google Play, the request is made from the app and the refund is processed immediately; the subscription ends at the same time, and your cards stay available. For a purchase made on the App Store, only Apple can issue a refund: the app points you to its form. After seven days, requests are handled by the store, under its own terms.

Acceptable use

Availability

The service is provided “as is”. It may be interrupted for maintenance, or because a provider it depends on is. Card generation in particular depends on a third-party service whose availability is not ours to guarantee.

Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Account and profile. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Canadian law and, for Quebec residents, by Quebec law. Any dispute falls to the competent courts of the user's place of residence in Canada.
